Store-bought granola can oftentimes be loaded with extra sugar. But these healthy granola clusters stay sweet with the help of a little honey, banana and almond butter. Organic bananas complement the seeds and nuts in this recipe to create a snack packed with necessary vitamins and nutrients. This snack is a crowd-pleaser for entertaining or a great on-the-go breakfast item for all ages.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1/2 a cup walnuts
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 a cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 a cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup flaxseeds
  • 3 very ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the peeled bananas with a fork and add the honey and almond butter.
  4. Stir ingredients together until the mixture resembles a sticky paste.
  5. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix everything together.
  6. Spread the mixture over a baking sheet lined with wax paper and place into the oven.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes until the clusters start to brown and become firm, stirring the mixture halfway through the baking time to break it into clusters.
  8. Cool to room temperature before enjoying. Store in an air-tight container.
  9. Enjoy!
