Recipe: Banana Almond Granola Clusters
Store-bought granola can oftentimes be loaded with extra sugar. But these healthy granola clusters stay sweet with the help of a little honey, banana and almond butter. Organic bananas complement the seeds and nuts in this recipe to create a snack packed with necessary vitamins and nutrients. This snack is a crowd-pleaser for entertaining or a great on-the-go breakfast item for all ages.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almonds
- 1/2 a cup walnuts
- 1 cup oats
- 1/2 a cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 a cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup flaxseeds
- 3 very ripe bananas
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons almond butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375° Fahrenheit.
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mash the peeled bananas with a fork and add the honey and almond butter.
- Stir ingredients together until the mixture resembles a sticky paste.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients and mix everything together.
- Spread the mixture over a baking sheet lined with wax paper and place into the oven.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the clusters start to brown and become firm, stirring the mixture halfway through the baking time to break it into clusters.
- Cool to room temperature before enjoying. Store in an air-tight container.
