For many in the United States, this week is a particularly stressful one. Wednesday, April 15 was Tax Day, and some procrastinators may have been down to the wire on filing (or may have asked for an extension). Whether your source of stress this week is looming taxes or another cause, the majority of Americans could use a bit more relaxation in their lives.

Which brings us to the topic of bananas. Most consumers are aware that there’s a high amount of potassium found in bananas, and potassium helps prevent muscle cramps. However, you can educate your customers that potassium is also an agent in stress relief. Organic Crops Have Significantly More Antioxidants, Study Finds

An international study led by the University of Newcastle in the U.K. has found a diet of organic food can provide antioxidants that are equivalent to 1-2 extra portions of fruit and vegetables per day.

A release from the university said the meta-analysis looked at 343 studies into the differences between organic and conventional crops, and found that the former can have 18-69% more antioxidants such as polyphenolics than the latter.  Read more
