Since 2005, GROW has helped provide educational, medical, and economic support to children and adults living in impoverished communities in Mexico and Ecuador. GROW works with established non-profit organizations such as Project Amigo in Colima, Mexico and Children International in Ecuador. In celebration of  #GROWmonth, here are uplifting and inspiring stories of some GROW scholars.

We invite you to read and share these stories with your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #GROWmonth.

GROW Student: Dulce

1472904_943905875621119_8301473608430783279_nDulce is 23 years old and has finished her eighth and final semester of undergraduate studies as a graphic designer. She has been a GROW scholar for 10 years.

Dulce particularly enjoys her business negotiation classes and learning about the world of business, generating business ideas and creating plans to bring them to life. Someday she wants to own her own company, so she appreciates learning skills such as cost analysis. Dulce also wants to study English and practice with different programs and technical equipment that she didn’t have time to do during the school year.

“Without the GROW program, I would have been working in the fields as is the destiny of those who don’t have the economic means to pursue higher education,” said Dulce.
