Homemade Almond Milk with Bananas and Honey

Makes 2 servings


  • 1 cup raw- skinned almonds
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 ½ to 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 medium- sized bananas, sliced ½ inch thick

Tools needed:

  • Blender
  • Very fine sieve or cheese cloth


  1. Bring the water to a boil, then remove from heat. Pour over the almonds and leave for 5 minutes or few hours to overnight for a richer milk
  2. Place mixture in a blender and puree until silky smooth
  3. Pass through a very fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth and discard solids
  4. In a small nonstick skillet, warm the honey
  5. Add the bananas, and cook over moderate heat, stirring, for 2 minutes
  6. Pour the mixture into small bowls or teacups and pour in warm almond milk

Almond milk can be stored in the fridge, covered, for up to 3 days.
