Tomorrow is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day! In honor of this special occasion, we’ve got the ultimate recipe for Chocolate Banana Ice Cream. The inclusion of bananas into your homemade ice cream is the Pièce de résistance in creating the most scrumptious dessert this summer. 

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream 


  • 1/3 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups frozen sliced bananas
  • 1/4 cup frozen strawberries


  1. Slice up bananas in 1/2″ thick pieces and place them in a Ziploc bag and put them in the freezer for about 2 hours. Make sure they are flat and spread out and not bunched together
  2. Place the yogurt, cocoa powder, honey and vanilla extract in a blender and quickly combine the ingredients for a few seconds, using the lowest setting to puree
  3. Add the frozen banana and strawberries to the mixture. Puree on the lowest setting for 20 seconds
  4. Scrape down the sides and puree again. Repeat the process until the mixture is smooth
  5. Serve!
