To all of our retailers carrying GROW bananas, we’d like to express our gratitude for helping make the GROW (Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers) program successful. We’re pleased to be able to share with you what your support efforts look like in action. This past holiday season, volunteers with Project Amigo dedicated their time during the Christmas Fiesta Week in Colima, Mexico.

In addition to preparing and wrapping gifts, Project Amigo volunteers distributed clothing and new shoes to 300 children in four Colima communities. Volunteers also spent time with children reading and participating in the holiday fiesta of piñatas, traditional foods, games, music and dancing.

Each time a GROW-branded banana box is purchased, a portion is also donated to the GROW fund, which is managed by the International Community Foundation (IFC). ICF completes all legal specifications required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and is then able to distribute the funds to programs such as Project Amigo.

Project Amigo volunteers describe their experiences as rewarding, meaningful and life-changing. Thanks to your support, our social responsibility program can continue strong. During your buying process this year, we hope you’ll remember and share with others what it means to be a supporter and distributor of GROW bananas.
