Recipe: Nutella® Banana Pastry Purses

Looking for a quick and tasty dessert that will make your guests want more? This unforgettable pastry recipe only requires four ingredients and about 30 minutes of your time. Nutella® Pastry Purses are crispy and deliciously sweet. A staple dessert and breakfast treat in Europe, these will have your guests begging for more.


  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry dough
  • Nutella®
  • 1 banana
  • Walnuts (optional)



  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Defrost pastry dough in refrigerator until pliable. Place on lightly floured surface and cut into nine squares. Place squares on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Using two teaspoons, drop Nutella® onto the center of each square. Slice the banana and place a slice on top of Nutella®. Add nuts if you’d like.
  4. Taking each opposite corner, bring corners together and squeeze tightly. Do the same with the two opposite corners. Make sure all four corners seal well.
  5. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. If some of the purses open during cooking, you can seal them back together quickly right after you take them out (when they are still hot).
