After an order is placed, each set of bananas is taped in bunches of five to seven called “a hand,” that can be scanned by weight at any retail checkout system. We pride ourselves in using minimal packaging on all organic bananas by using tape only. This eliminates the use of bags and minimizes the amount of total waste. Distributors are pleased with this packaging method because it makes their business with retailers much easier since our boxes serve as immediate displays.
