Alejandra de Jesus Nicolas Garcia, the oldest of five children, is a political and social sciences major at the Universidad de Colima.Driven and devoted to her studies, she is changing the future for herself and her family. But none of this would be possible without the help of Organics Unlimited GROW Fund.
Before receiving her scholarship, Alejandra’s future was decided. She would finish high school and begin working with the rest of her family, her intellect and education level stunted.Plagued by anticipation of the same uncertainties her father faces of never having steady work, Alejandra was granted an opportunity to become a pillar for her parents and four younger siblings.
With plans to earn her degree in International Relations, then follow with a Master’s in Economics and Finance, Alejandra will become another example that anything is possible with the help of The GROW Fund.
Funding for her scholarship and others like her comes through each purchase of GROW bananas.Alejandra has found a new independence and confidence through living at Casa Amiga near where she studies. And she has a commitment to not only the value of her own learning, but also providing help to others from her community who will follow in her footsteps.
