For years the GROW Fund has been providing the means to improve the lives of workers and their families in the communities where bananas are grown.  To change the fate of their future generations, workers’ children have been receiving proper education.  In addition to financial aid, education programs and courses on health and hygiene, the GROW Fund recently sponsored a Vision Clinic Day.

For one week, a team of optometrists and volunteers from Oregon, Kentucky and California held vision clinics.  Approximately 250 patients each day were reviewed, fitted and provided corrective lenses.  In that one week, about 200 agricultural workers were given 20/20 vision.  One patient said that the GROW Fund helped “give him back his world!”
